Worker Profile Image Capture (MSite)

Use MSite to capture a worker’s profile image for biometric access and time & attendance. Capture can be done on-site via Supervisor/Workforce Apps, or at a face reader enrolment point. Follow the quality guidelines below to ensure fast, reliable recognition at the gate.

Worker Profile Image Capture (MSite)

Overview

Capture a clear, compliant face image so MSite devices can verify workers quickly. Good images reduce queues, failed matches and manual PIN fallbacks. Use this on new projects, re-enrolments, or when operatives change appearance.

Troubleshooting

Blurry or dark images

Cause: Low light, movement, or dirty camera lens.
Fix: Clean the lens, move to brighter even light, stabilise the device, and retake.

Worker recognised inconsistently

Cause: Obstructions (caps, sunglasses), strong backlight, or partial face in frame.
Fix: Remove obstructions, face the light, ensure full face in frame, recapture, then sync.

Device not using the new photo

Cause: Pending sync or offline hardware.
Fix: Verify connectivity, perform a device health check, and force a data sync if available.

PIN fallback used too often

Cause: Poor-quality image or reader placement issues.
Fix: Recapture a compliant image and review reader mounting height, angle, and lighting.

FAQ

What are the minimum quality rules for a worker profile image?

Straight-on face, neutral expression, eyes open and visible, even lighting, no hats/visors/sunglasses, minimal shadows, and not cropped at chin or forehead.

Can workers upload their own photo during pre-registration?

Yes. They can submit a selfie that is reviewed and approved by site administrators before the first day on site.

Do changes to appearance require a new capture?

Major changes (e.g., facial hair, glasses vs. none) may reduce match performance. Recapture to keep recognition fast and consistent.

How does this compare to card-only access?

Biometric image capture enables fast, hands-free verification and accurate attendance, reducing card sharing and “ghost hours” versus card-only access.

What if a worker cannot be photographed for a valid reason?

Use controlled PIN/card fallback per site policy and document the exception. Consider additional approvals for sensitive cases.

Is the image stored securely?

Yes. Access is role-based and changes are audited. Only authorised users can view or update worker images.

Can I delete or replace an image later?

Yes. Update the worker profile with a new compliant image; the system distributes it to devices after sync.

Why are sunglasses not allowed but prescription glasses are?

Sunglasses obscure the eyes, reducing match quality. Clear prescription glasses typically do not obstruct key facial features.
