This article covers how to add a site level course / induction and the various settings associated. If you are unsure what something does, the tool-tip(?) will provide further information on the function of the relevant setting.

Section 1 - Course Details
- Click the 'Training' section across the top navigation bar and then navigate to 'Add a New Online Course'.
- Title - This will be show to the employee at the start of the course and will be the name displayed in the training section on their profile once awarded.
Description - A brief description of the course, you could use the name of the course here if you have nothing specific. - Validity Period - Set the period of time the Induction is valid for in days. Generally the default is 1 year but you can amend to your project requirements.
Allow Resit Period - This is the number of days left before expiry they will be asked to retake the induction if invited (the default of 30 is normally sufficient for this). - Required - This will indicate on an employee profile on the RAG status (dots in the top right) if they have not been awarded this course or it has expired. This will show as a red dot. We recommend you check this box.
Restricts Access - This will block employees from progressing through the turnstile if they have not been awarded the induction / course. NOTE: This will happen even if the course is not published. If you wish to implement this, please speak to MSite Support to assist / advise.
Section 2 - Audience
- Sites - select your site(s) from the drop down list. If you are a central super user you will have the ability to publish a Company wide course as shown. As a site level user you will only be able to publish a course for your site(s).
- Roles - If MSite has roles configured for your company, you can target specific groups for a particular induction. For example, you may decide to do a general induction for all and then create another one that only apply for employees with the role of Supervisors / Managers.
Section 3 - Assessment Settings
- Minimum Pass Score - If you have assessment questions, set the minimum score. If you have no assessment questions, this can be left as the default 60 or set to 0.
- Must Pass - If you want the employee to achieve the minimum pass score in order to be awarded the induction/ course, mark the course 'Must Pass'.
Show Correct Answers - This is If you want the assessment to be informative, mark the course 'Show Correct Answers'.
Section 4 - Course Content
NOTE: Before adding content, we recommend you click 'Create' to add the course to the system. You can then continue to add content, again, we recommend you save regularly or if prompted.
- Add Section - This is where you upload individual slides or videos.
- Edit / Delete - Modify settings or files relating to an individual slide or delete.
- Ordering - If you wish to change the ordering of the content, use the up or down arrows to adjust the position of the content.
Course Content - Add Section (Slides / Videos)
- Title - Give the section a title
- Type - Select the type (Slide or Video). For slides you will need to set the minimum duration the slide is held on the screen before the employee can move to the next section.
- Upload - Image (slides) or video file. When adding slides they must be in an image file format (.png / .jpeg). More information on how to convert a PowerPoint presentation to image files.
- Click 'Add'.
Course Content - Add Assessment Questions
- Question - This is limited to 220 characters including spaces.
- Upload - This is optional and you can upload an image file for a scenario based question or to put the answers into a list view. You may want to use this where you have a question where all the answers are correct - 'All of the above'.
- Answers - Minimum of two answers. Single select correct answer is selected to the left of the answer. Each answer is limited to 180 characters including spaces.
- Randomise Answer Order - Example, correct answer is (A) for Bob & (C) for Sally. If you need to use 'All of the above' don't select this option.
- Click 'Add'
Section 5 - Save / Publishing Content
- Delete Course - Until a course has been published for the first time, you can delete the course at any time.
- Save / Save & Preview - Save any changes you have made to the content / settings of the course. We recommend you do this regularly, especially on a large course. If you select 'Save & Preview' it will pop up a copy of the course in its current state to review (minus any timings).
- Published - When you are happy with the course, click 'Published' and then 'Save'. This will make the course 'Live' for employees to complete as part of the online induction process.
