MSite now allows you to enrol fingerprints from any PC or Laptop provided you have the relevant fingerprint reader and licensing. This guide will show you how to install the software.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Browser - Google Chrome & Microsoft Internet Explorer 11+ are the only browsers currently supported for this application
-
Install the relevant USB driver for your version of Windows. This must be installed in order for the fingerprint reader to work with our APIs correctly.
- Unfiltered internet or open ports (80, 443), this may require input from your IT provider.
- Domain (.msitecloud.com) will need to be whitelisted if your company use a proxy server. This will likely require input from your IT provider.
NOTE - If you're not sure what version of Windows you are running, Navigate to Control Panel>System&Security>System or type 'System' in the search bar.
Step 1: Downloading the MSite Fingerprint Device API:
You'll need to install a small program onto the PC or Laptop first, from the bottom of the screen click 'Downloads' and from the Downloads page, click the Download Button.
Step 2: Installing the MSite Fingerprint Device API:
The installer will download to your chosen location and you can open the file to begin the install. Alternatively you can open the installer from your download bar, click the arrow next to the download and click 'open'
IMPORTANT: For the next step you may need administrator privileges on the PC or Laptop you're using. If you're using a company PC you may need to speak with somebody from your IT department to get them to allow the install to be completed.
The install wizard will now guide you through the setup process - when prompted you'll need to click 'Next' and 'Yes' when you're asked to allow the programme to make changes to your device.
Step 3: Install the USB Driver:
Install the relevant Futronics USB driver for your version of Windows.
Download - Windows Vista / Windows 7 USB driver v4.0.5.1.
Download - Windows 8 / Windows 10, the USB driver v10.0.0.1
Step 4: Re-attach the USB Fingerprint Reader:
Now you have installed all the relevant software and drivers, remove the USB device and re-attach. You should now be able to enrol fingerprints.
